Can anyone help with connecting to xbox live?
Ok, after a lot of work and changing lots of settings I finally got my xbox to get xbox live, here's the complicated setup, At&t wireless internet modem === laptop with win 7 === ethernet cable === xbox 360 slim i had to tweak the internet connection sharing and some other settings but I finally got it to connect to xbox live. first it downloaded and installed console update, no problem. then it restarted and wanted the xbox live update... it would not finish kept giving me an error code. i went on xbox support and they did not have the error code listed, and it wasn't in the forums, so i tried about a dozen solutions and none worked, so i just gave up that way and used a usb to install the downloaded xbox live. then it got the update no problem. now i actually have my gamer profile on xbox live. but as i was trying to go through stuff like the marketplace it would sit for a second then say that not everything is availiable, please check again soon... more error codes. i'm not sure What those error codes are for, i didnt look them up yet. but anyways i tried resetting the connection and i think I've discovered the problem, It says the nat settings are set to moderate... And i'm not sure how to change that, because im using that wireless modem, I know how to get a routers settings changed but have no idea how to with that modem, please help.
oh the modem is a Sierra Wireless ATT Lightning USB Aircard Modem (64972)
Yes I've tried restarting everything, And it is not a router, I don't have a router, I have a wireless Modem which is diferent. but thanks for trying.
Xbox 360 crashes on main loading screen..?
I was streaming a film yesterday from my PC to my 360, I paused it for about 20 minutes and when I came back to play it it had crashed. So I restarted the console and it told me an update was available, so I updated, it restarted, and then asked me to apply the update. It restarted again, but this time didn't make it past the main loading screen. I turned it on and off a number of times, removed the harddrive, removed all cables, tried turning it on without being connected to the internet etc. Everything failed so I spoke to Xbox support who walked me through their troubleshooting tips, basically everything I'd done except for updating it using a USB flash-drive or a blank disc, which I've yet to do.
Has anybody else had the same problem? Or got any idea as to what could be the problem? Maybe a solution? Just need some help before I take the plunge and pay out £62 for MS to fix what could possibly be a minor problem.
Have just tried updating using a USB flash-drive. It updates, restarts, and then gives the error "Some Xbox 360 features are missing or corrupt. A system update is required to replace them. Your console will now restart."
I've spoke to another Xbox Support member who advised trying a different HDD so I'm going to use a friends and see if that works.
But any other suggestions would be great.
Will i get a lot of Gamestop Credit?
So i live in Georgia (the country) and once a year i come to the US. I have a xbox 360 which broke, it might get fixed though, but my friends are getting PS3's to play online and i think i will too. I have a lot of xbox 360 games (Mass Effect, Gears of War, Red Faction: Guerrela, Red Dead Redemption, MW2, Halo 3, Halo ODST, Halo Reach, Tony Hawk, Battlefield Bad company 2) i also have 5 controllers (the extra one came with a new console i got after my old one got RROD), and like 3 of them are decent. So if i trade a lot of this stuff in, could i get a PS3? i want one because the online is free and paying for xbox live is very difficult here (since they don't accept most credit cards from here) and games are cheaper than they are on the 360.

Need to get better cooling for my xbox 360 slim.?
Ive noticed ever since i got my new halo reach 360 slim that ive never owned a console that gets as hot as this one gets every time i use it. I was just rearranging my cables and rested my arm on it and even when my old 360 had a red ring and i used the towel trick to overheat it to get the cpu cooler to melt back on it wasnt as hot as my 360 is now.
Im not really having any problems i just dont want to have to replace this 360 when i dont have the money to.
So whats the best way to cool this thing? I noticed with the old 360s and ps3 the aftermarket attachable fans only made everything worse. I keep my 360 slim on its side since it wont fit anywhere any other way. I would get the advertised case with extra cooling that they had for battelfield 3 and gears of war 3 but i believe i have to make it stand up to use that.
Anyone know of anything trustworthy that wont break down on me that i can attach to my 360 to help its ventilation? I have a box fan next to this thing and it still gets this hot on a regular basis. Only recently has it been getting hotter which cant be good.
So u mean they intended on making the console so hot on a constant basis that if u left ur arm resting on it ud feel like u were sun burnt? Doesnt sound very smart, ive never felt a ps3 get this hot. And considering my laptops never get that hot and need to be cooled properly doesnt mean that they should be too hot to touch to run efficiently.
I also mentioned that i cant stand it up. I dont have it on the floor either. Theres tons of space and nothing hot near it and a box fan constantly blowing room temperature air on it.
Do you guys have any suggestions or just comments on how its fine when it didnt use to get this hot before?

@Joe If I call the xbox company than the reception will pick up your call and put you on a 300 long list also known as the crap list. The Best way to get a job for the gaming industry is call the right person or mail the right person.

Advice - Unchartered series on PS3 - best gaming experience ever i heard ?
Unchartered 2 and 3 - look like games that had developers push the PS3 tech to its limits or at least understand the hardware, and exploit it to bring something so stunning, immersive and beautiful.
my question is simply this - i havent played the original first game.
Was that really good ?
should I play that one first and then try 2 and 3 ?
or can i skip to 2 ?
btw - i got killzone 3, played it for a bit - it doesnt quite do much for me - but it does show potential to become addictive IF i play it more. GTA IV and House Of Dead - Overkill are the two other games i own and currently play the most lol

I want to sell my ps3 thats practically new, my xbox 360 (white), a 1080p lcd monitor, and all of my games for both consoles. theres too many xbox 360 games to list, so lets just say alot of 2009-2011 games. for ps3, I have skyrim, assassins creed revelations, battlefield 3 and modern warfare 3. my goal is 1000 dollars, but I know thats probably not going to happen. so does anybody know roughly how much money I could get out of this? or if theres anyway I could just like trade these online for a gaming pc? thanks in advance
