Want to play playstation 1 and 2 games from other countries, what's the best way to go about this?

Trying to relive the ps1/2 glory days, and I see a lot of interesting titles that were exclusive to European and Japanese consoles. What should I look at getting in order to play such games in the US? I heard of a PAL console, but does the PAL work for both European and Japanese titles, or do I need two kinds of PAL consoles for everything? Do I need a new TV or an HDMI cable?

Should I get an Xbox 360 or a PS3?

(firstly, disregard the name, it's just one of my beloved childhood characters, not my actual name) Hi, I know this may sound to you like an over asked question, but I kind of need the help. I have looked at both, and it's still hard to decide. Just note, I'm not asking which is better, rather which should I get. OK, so first, I'm not from the US so prices here are different, let me specify the costs: PlayStation 3: -160 GB console costs about 415$ -320 GB BF3 bundle costs 522$ XBOX 360: -250 GB console costs 351$ -1 year Live costs 78$ (note: I'm going to get the Live only when I'll need it, not the same day I get the console) Now, I live in a small town and there aren't many jobs (if any), so I get about 25~40$ every other week. I've been saving for over 4 months now (I think), and to be honest, I'm tired of saving. I have 315$ (approximately) and I would really like to start playing already (this week I'm hopefully going to get another 40$). Which ever console I'll buy I'll get my first game for free (I'm probably going to get Skyrim). If I'm going to go with the PS3 I'm going to have to save for about another month and a half or two (and I really don't feel like doing that, unless it's THAT amazingly better than the 360). One last thing, I doubt I'll use the PS3's Blu-Ray, I usually just watch movies on my PC (part of the reason being that there's no video store around my town). So, which console do you think I should get, and if you can (or want to) please post a small explanation as to why I should go with that particular console. *Edit: As I mentioned, I won't be using the Blu-Ray, so it's irrelevant to my choice. Also, I don't consider the cost of the Live to be a factor since I'm only going to buy it when needed, and right now I'm focused on whether I should keep saving for the PS3 (which like I said, I'm really not into since I'm tired of saving) or buy the 360. As well, my computer is just a regular lap-top, so if I want a gaming computer I'll have to save up for one. A decent one costs about 780$ and I'm really not going to save for that. One last thing, I don't really care THAT much about graphics difference, if I did than I would rather get a computer (also I see both consoles having graphics edge on different games, for instance Skyrim looks better on the 360 whilst BF3 looks better on the PS3). Where is the Netflix UK PS3 app?

It's already launched and people are using it, but it hasn't yet appeared on my PlayStation 3. After trawling through a few forums online, I have tried: rebooting the console; connecting to the Internet via an ethernet cable as opposed to a wireless connection; launching the Store; launching Home; signing out of both Store and Home; downloading other video apps. Nothing has worked. Does anybody know how else I might be able to "force" the PS3 into displaying the Netflix UK application? Thanks.

What is a good dazzle capture card to record off of video game consoles?

I want to start doing "let's plays" and possibly other things, but I need a capture card to record off of my video game consoles. I would record off of a lot of them, the main ones including Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo 64 and Playstation 3, so it would have to be able to use composite cables from old systems as well as new ones. I heard that the Dazzle DVC 100 plus (I think that's what it's called) was really good, and it's cheap, but it's kinda old and I wanted to see if there was a newer one that is better. I'm not that great with high tech mumbo jumbo, so a simplified response would be appreciated. I would also like for a recommendation on how many, if any, splitters and sets of cables I would need. I would be using a Dell XPS Laptop from September of 2008, and it has vista (oh no). Thank you in advance for any responses. I'm looking for a cheap device. Like no more than $60 (US dollars) unless it's really good, as I don't have a huge budget. And I never said anything about an xbox, I don't even have one, unless you meant the 360, which I almost never use anymore.

Question about the Playstation 4 and new XBOX?

I have read plenty of rumors on IGN and other online newspaper sources that the new PS4 and XBox will be unveiled by this summer and have a release date by the holiday season in December 2012. My questions are - How much truth do you think there is behind a possible release for both consoles? Would you wait in line outside during the holiday season to get one and would you be disappointed or thrilled if a new console were to come out. Personally, all the signs seem to point to yes, at least for the PS4. I remember every 5-6 years or so, Sony always released 2 models of a PS1, PS2 and for the PS3...which is a thicker version a thinner version which is why I find it enviable for a PS4 release. Personally I would wait in line to buy 1 just to sell it on eBay and sell it on eBay the day after during the holiday season to make profit which I think is more logical because I remember the PS3 when the PS3 came out it was about $700-800 and people were selling them on eBay for over $5,000...some sold for $10,000+ 2 nights before Christmas eve =s

I'm really depressed, HELP PLEASE

I'm a 14 year old boy and I've been really depressed lately. I'm really poor and when I say that, you don't know the half of it. I have no dad, and my mom is on disability welfare and only makes $390.00/ a month. I live with my grandpa, and he's on Social Security and makes around $400.00 a month, and I have a sister and she's really depressed aswell and tried to kill herself the other day. We have no shower, we have to bathe ourselves in this bucket we use. And my mom couldn't pay the gas bill about 2 years ago and we've been taking baths with cold water. We can't use our stove because we don't have gas. My mom doesn't have a car, but my grandpa let us use his car, but he got in a car accident this Christmas and now our car is broke, and we don't have car insurance. We don't have a washer or a dryer, and my mom has to push a cart with our dirty close in it and go to the laundry-mat. I don't go to public High school, I go to an independant study school, and it's pretty good at the moment. I have absolutely no friends, and I just want to die because I don't want to live like this anymore. And every holiday is the same thing. My mom couldn't afford anything for Christmas or my sister's birthday. I recently found my dad on Facebook, and he has a new family and kids, and he owns his own barber shop in Mexico. I just hate my life, I feel like I can't take this anymore, I really can't. I hate seeing my family like this, I hate seeing myself like this and just want this to end. Things use to be better years ago when I was around 9-10 years old. We had a shower, an oven, a washer and dryer, a playstation console, and then everything slowly faded away. My mom's check was cut and everything broke and we have no money to fix anything.

Why do my parents not want me to play video games in school time?

Before I start, I would like to thank anybody in advance for their time if they read all of this. Recently, I got an Xbox 360 (because most of my friends already have one), as a Christmas present. But lately, my mum has been acting strange about the console, by kicking me when I was explaining what Xbox LIVE was (it was cold), taking the controllers away from my brother and I when we are about to go to sleep, and now, she wants me to pack up the Xbox 360. I was in the middle of having a bath while she said it, and I asked her why, and she said that she didn't want me playing it in school time. She's already ordered the Xbox LIVE Gold membership for one year, and most of that is going to go to waste because over here, usually have about 290+ days of school. I got the system one month before, and I told my schoolmates so we could play together on Xbox LIVE (despite I had to wait two days to get it). And a few people found it funny that I had to wait a month for the 360, although most people were like, "What's so funny about it"? I do have some other games consoles (PlayStation, PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii, not to mention I could do PC gaming), but I'm planning on selling the Wii, (which doesn't really work) for a Wii U, and selling the PlayStation (which will probably sell at a very poor price) and getting the PlayStation 2 fixed, but I don't want to have to go back to sixth generation era gaming. I mean, having local parties is fun, and getting the Wii U may be worthwhile, but I want to be able to play the Xbox 360 because most of my friends have it. And plus, my mum would be wasting 5/6ths to 5/7ths of the money she paid for the Gold membership. Is there any way I can help my mum change her mind, or will for the meantime, I have to hunt through the internet and Post Office to get games on the PlayStation 2? I know this may be long and very detailed, but can anybody help? FACT: I got the Xbox 360 on the 22nd November, and opened it on 16th December. Just saying.

I have a 4G xbox 360, im wondering about harddrive limits with games?

Hello i have been a playstation gamer forever, until recently when i purchased a xbox360. I bought it due to the appeal that kinect have and the much fun with dance central 2 and other kinect games. Currently that is only what i plan to use the console for, but for future knowledge theres something id like to know. I just wanna know whether xbox360 have games that "requires" a harddrive install or is the general rule for this system is that all games most not require a game install. Thank you
