PS3 Slim Power Supply Issues?

Hi, I have a Playstation 3 Slim, model number CECH-2501A. Recently I've had a problem with the console shutting off shortly after starting it up, which, from extensive research, I have determined to be a problem with the power supply. I took the power supply out and saw that it was model number APS-270. I tried the fix that works on the APS-250 but had no success. I purchased a replacement APS-270 and installed it but it did not fix the problem. I'm wondering if there is any fix available or if power supplies like the APS-250 or EADP-220B are compatible with my system. I've researched and found conflicting answers so I was hoping someone here could give me a clear answer. To address other common things I've seen, this is not YLOD and it does not seem like an overheating problem. I can't get it into recovery mode or anything like that since it shuts off within a few seconds. I am trying to avoid buying a new console because all of my data is on this one.

Playstation error code 80010201?

On Monday me and my boyfriend bought a used 60gb first generation play station 3. We both have newer play stations that work normally but we wanted this one for the backwards compatibility. Anyways, we got home and hooked it up. We got past the initial setup and everything worked fine. When we got to hooking up the Internet it wouldn't work. It would constantly fail to obtain ip address. We also noticed that the controller refused to work wirelessly. It worked fine through the USB and it works fine on our other ps3. I went and bought another system and it had the same exact problem. On both of these systems we tried to update the software via USB drive. The first console would only get to 81% on the first screen and the second one would only get to 98% on the install screen. Anyways, we took the first one back to eb games to exchange it for another model (the same model just a different console.) This one has the same problem. So I was wondering if there was any fixes to this. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you!

Playstation 3, Xbox360 or wii??? Preferences and why?

I have recently completed my cOnsole collection and added a ps3 to my collection so have all 3 now. I only got back into gameing about a year ago after a good 6 or so year break. I was originaly a playstation kid but did like Xbox for halo and Few other titles. I have now owned an Xbox a lot longer than my ps3 and I'm not sure which one I prefer now. Been on live with Xbox now for about 6 months and absolutely loving it not played my ps3 online yet. Seems like there's more exclusives for the Xbox?? What are everyone's preferences and why??

How much longer will 360 and PS3 be relevant?

I'm not a gamer, I do not own an Xbox 360 or a Playstation 3. I do enjoy the games I play with my friends, and I have enough money to buy either one, but whenever I think I want to buy one, my mind tells me that technology goes fast, and they're going to be obsolete soon. Should I buy a 360 or PS3, or should I wait for the next big console to come out?

how do modern video game consoles work?

There are two things which I don't understand -How come video game consoles have only 512MB of RAM? PC games use around 2GB-4GB of RAM nowadays (and memory RAM is used to save temporary files and this occurs when you play video games on PC) -How come the graphic card in the video game consoles is slower and has less memory than nowadays graphic cards used in PC, and the graphics are still excellent when playing xbox 360 or playstation 3?
