On Monday me and my boyfriend bought a used 60gb first generation play station 3. We both have newer play stations that work normally but we wanted this one for the backwards compatibility. Anyways, we got home and hooked it up. We got past the initial setup and everything worked fine. When we got to hooking up the Internet it wouldn't work. It would constantly fail to obtain ip address. We also noticed that the controller refused to work wirelessly. It worked fine through the USB and it works fine on our other ps3.
I went and bought another system and it had the same exact problem.
On both of these systems we tried to update the software via USB drive. The first console would only get to 81% on the first screen and the second one would only get to 98% on the install screen.
Anyways, we took the first one back to eb games to exchange it for another model (the same model just a different console.)
This one has the same problem. So I was wondering if there was any fixes to this. Any suggestions would be helpful.

i have playstation move and thinking of getting the sharp shooter gun, but have some questions?
does it make the controls any easier or more fluent? bcuz when i played killzone 3 and resistance 3 with just the motion controllers and it sux and difficult to see. it seems like the playstation move is arcarde style but regular fps games dont seem formatted for it so it seems uncomfortable. will the sharp shooter be a good buy or not?

Playstation 3 Controller?
Hi there, I was playing FIFA the other day, and for some reason the controller wouldn't let me go forward, so I backed out on to the dashboard, however now, I cannot use the left analog stick to move around, I loaded up Call Of Duty and I cold not move on that, then I tried to on youtube on it, to find out I cannot move the mouse, which is controlled by the left analog stick, I was wondering if anyone thinks it would be better for me to try and fix it, or just buy a new one? I am out of the warranty stage so I don't want to pay Sony the money that they have asked for to fix it, thanks
Broke PlayStation 3 Need Help?
The insert slot where you connect your controllers in the PS3 is broken. I tried connecting a controller in it one day and it wont insert properly. Is this fixable? Where can I take it to fix it? Thanks.
